Winning at Stink Farm isn't about memorizing which animal beats which — it's about reading the person across the table. Here are five things to watch for.
1. The Pause
A confident play happens fast. A bluff often has a half-second hesitation before the card hits the table — that beat of “wait, can I actually get away with this?”
2. The Overcommit
Watch for players who announce their card a little too loudly or too fast, like they're trying to convince themselves as much as you. Genuine plays usually don't need the extra emphasis.
3. Eye Contact Shifts
Some players stare you down when bluffing (overcompensating); others suddenly find the table fascinating. Figure out which pattern each person at your table defaults to — it's rarely the same for everyone.
4. Timing Against the Odds
Pay attention to which cards have already been played. If someone claims to play a card that's statistically unlikely to still be in their hand, that's a strong signal to call “Cow Pie!”
5. Your Own Tell
The best bluffers know their own default behavior and deliberately break the pattern. If you always play fast, slow down occasionally on true plays too — so your speed stops being useful information for everyone else.
